Hospital Robot
The Hospital Robot project explored how autonomous systems can support medical staff in high-pressure healthcare environments by taking over repetitive transport and logistical tasks. Developed as part of a doctoral research project, the design focused not only on technological integration, but also on the relationship between humans and autonomous machines operating within sensitive public spaces.
The robot was designed to function within dynamic hospital environments where patients, medical personnel, and equipment continuously intersect. A key challenge was creating a form that communicates safety, clarity, and reliability without introducing visual stress or technological intimidation. The resulting design balances precise engineering with a soft, approachable visual language that supports intuitive human-robot interaction.
Particular attention was given to ergonomics, accessibility, and behavioral perception. The architectural form, carefully integrated sensors, and simplified interaction zones were developed to help the robot naturally coexist within everyday clinical workflows while remaining visually legible to users with varying levels of technical familiarity.
The project demonstrates an interdisciplinary approach combining industrial design, robotics, ergonomics, and psychology research. By focusing equally on functionality and emotional acceptance, the concept proposes a future in which autonomous medical technologies become trusted, seamless elements of healthcare infrastructure rather than purely technical devices.
